Since the Western blot was invented back in 1979, little has changed to make the process better, easier or faster. When it comes to Western blotting, nothing is more soul crushing than spending 1–2 days running a Western, only to find out that something went wrong, somewhere along the line. Despite the simplistic theoretical nature of the Western, a lot can go wrong, and when it does it is hard to know where things made a turn for the worse.

The WesternEaze-Chemi Kit not only saves precious time but it also minimizes the number of steps required. This results in increased reproducibility for hassle-free Western blotting every time. In Figure 1 below, sensitivity was compared between a traditional Western and WesternEaze-Chemi. The target, Vinculin, was observed at 0.02μg of HeLa Lysate with WesternEaze Chemi whereas it was only detected at 0.63μg of HeLa Lysate when a traditional Western was performed. Figure 1. High sensitivity Western blot in one-hour. Dilutions of HeLa lysate were electrophoresed using SDS-PAGE and the protein was transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane. The blots were probed with 5μg of mouse anti-Vinculin (Boster #MA1103) using either the WesternEaze or Traditional Western blot methods. The blots were developed with WesternBright™ ECL Substrate (Advansta #K-12045).
